What is Indian head massage?
Indian head massage is an ancient form of touch targeting specific areas of the body including the head, scalp, and neck. Used for thousands of years to combat the causes and effects of stress, tension, fatigue, and negative energy, this complementary therapy focuses on an extensive set of pressure points.
Throughout your treatment, your trained therapist will use their hands to deliver a number of gentle strokes and motions – creating a feeling of deep relaxation, improving scalp circulation, and reducing tension – all of which contribute to a long list of benefits including the stimulation of hair growth, stress/anxiety relief, and the loosening of tense joints and muscles.
How much is Indian head massage?
The price of a UK Indian head massage can vary widely according to a number of factors – often including your chosen provider, location, and treatment length. Current averages for this treatment type sit at approximately £65 per hour.
At Lana’s Holistic Centre, we’re proud to offer holistic Indian head massage treatments at £60 for 60 minutes.

Can Indian head massage help hair loss?
One of the least expected benefits of Indian head massage is its stimulation of hair growth! A great option for those looking to improve the health of their hair and scalp, Indian head massage encourages growth by increasing blood flow to areas such as the roots – delivering increased levels of vital nutrients and oxygen.
Beyond the immediate physical benefits, Indian head massage also tackles some of the most direct causes of hair loss – including stress and anxiety – by delivering enhanced levels of relaxation both during and post-appointment.
Looking to boost your scalp and hair health with a truly relaxing solution? Book an Indian head massage with Lana’s Holistic Centre today.
Is Indian head massage safe in pregnancy?
Although Indian head massage is provided is a safe lying position (on the side for pregnant clients) the team at Lana’s Holistic Centre recommend that it is booked only in the second or third trimester of pregnancy. This treatment is an excellent way to relax and release the tension gathered in the upper body whilst expecting – however, for those seeking a session focusing entirely on the effects of pregnancy (including back pain, and swollen legs/feet), our dedicated pregnancy massage service may be worth considering!
If you’re pregnant and unsure of which of our massage types is most suitable for your circumstances, why not give us a call for a free consultation? We’ll be happy to help.
